When an introvert tries to open up…

Sometimes, or rather most times, we attempt to do something which doesn’t suit us. For some it’s because of overconfidence, for some, it is just for the kicks, for others, like me, it’s just because they have nothing better to do! For some one like me, who has never written a single page of a diary, one who copies quotes and lyrics to fill the ‘about me’ section of social networking sites, one who has prepared a speech to answer the interviewers when they ask ‘tell me something about yourself’, the thought of writing a blog itself is preposterous!

So here I am...on a suicide mission to write my own blog! Don’t blame me. I am just trying to keep up with the latest sensation that has gripped the nation! Everybody, who is anybody, is writing a blog nowadays. And believe you me; this newly acquired talent is being flaunted by people as if it’s a Ferrari! Everywhere you will find a link of someone’s blog being highlighted! It’s like if you blog, you are in the ‘in’ crowd, if not, who the hell are you? Now tell me how much can a person endure? So, I finally gave in, and here’s me boring you with inconsequential blabbering!

Who do people blog? I think mainly because they want to make a statement. Long ago, when we used to have ‘adda’ sessions, people used to voice their own opinion in front of a group. But now we prefer to be online in our free time, hence socializing has a new avatar, social networking sites; and those who want to voice their opinion, have blogs. Though the packaging has changed, yet man still remains the social animal. People, who were more social previously, now have more online friends. Those who used shout their head off trying to prove their point, now have become prolific bloggers!

You might ask, why do we have to voice our opinion? The answer, my friends, is that somewhere in our evolution we have picked up the notion that voicing your opinion is asserting your freedom! We are free men (and women) living in a democratic country, so we must voice our opinion (read blog). So here I am, asserting my freedom, attempting something that doesn’t suit me. Don’t know what the consequences of this will be. Hopefully I’ll live to tell that tale in my next adventure!
